Normally it takes me around three months to finish a track. I can’t work on music every day, and for a long time I didn’t fully know what I was doing. Since joining Hot Key Collective (HKC), that’s changed—especially in terms of clarity and process. If I could afford full-time status as a musician, we’d be pumping out jams nonstop.
My next release, Galaxy Rider, is a bit different. It only took about two weeks, largely thanks to the training HKC has given me over the last 11 months.

What Is Galaxy Rider? Classic Synthwave, Outrun-Flavored
Galaxy Rider leans more traditional synthwave. I’m still learning subgenres and production nuances, but I believe this track falls into the outrun side of synthwave—could be wrong, but that’s where my head’s at.
Highlights and Production Notes
- Intro guitar textures that set the vibe—one of the HKC guys said the intro gave him chills.
- A restrained second drop—I held back to avoid overdoing it at this stage in my synthwave journey.
- I’m aware some techniques I use are still a bit house-leaning, so I’m digging deeper into synthwave arrangements now that I’m out of the broader dance music lane.
Tempo & Feel
The track sits at 80 BPM, making it one of the slowest tempos I’ve produced in over 15 years. I usually worked at 120–130 BPM back in my house days—even Gunna Be Alright ran at 120.
Release Date & Platforms
Galaxy Rider is uploaded and pending distribution to streaming platforms. We’re set for an official release on October 3, 2025.
I Want Your Feedback
I’m excited to hear what you think—especially from synthwave and outrun fans. What hits, what doesn’t, and what you want more of in future releases?
