Where Jazz Meets the Grid

This one is a bit of a time-travel trip for me. Musically, it’s built on a foundation of spacious, reverberated old-school jazz saxophone married to a driving synthwave beat. It’s that late-night, neon-soaked vibe that I love, but with a soulful twist.

The Inspiration

The title comes from Bleeding Gums Murphy, the legendary jazzman from The Simpsons. That character was actually where I first heard the saxophone back in 1990, when I was just three years old. It stuck with me all these years, and this track is my nod to that early inspiration—taking that classic sound and giving it a home in the retro-future.

The Magic Number: 87 BPM

For the gear heads and numerologists out there, the track sits at 87 BPM. It’s a bit of a running joke with myself since I was born in 1987. It just feels like the right tempo for the genre. It’s the perfect speed for cruising. Expect more 87 BPM lol.
